Frequently Asked Admission Questions During COVID-19
The Sage School building is currently closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Virtual tours will be available on the website soon so that families can peek inside Sage classrooms as well as see typical classes in action.
Yes, we are still accepting applications for the 2020-2021! Once the online application is complete, we will schedule time for the applicant to visit virtual classes at their current grade level. Later in the day, they will meet with a teacher (or two for Grades 5-8) to participate in some assessments.
The teacher recommendation form (below) as well as the latest report card or transcript are still required.
• Teacher recommendation form for Beginners and Pre-K applicants (if currently in a program)
• Teacher recommendation form for Kindergarten and Grade 1 applicants
• Teacher recommendation form for Grades 2-5 applicants
• Math Teacher recommendation form for Grades 6-8 applicants
• English Teacher recommendation form for Grades 6-8 applicants
Absolutely – we will be contacting you to continue the process, at wherever that point in the process that may be. Applicants are participating in virtual classes and meeting virtually with teachers to participate in assessments. We ask that you still request teacher recommendations from your child’s current teacher, as most students are in contact with them. If their school’s office is closed, you can share their most recent report card with us directly.

Because our school is closed, we are unable to administer the AABL and ISEE tests at this time. Students can take the ISEE through July 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year, so testing later on this year may be a possibility. ISEE will offer a remote option for students applying to Grades 5-8 beginning in May. We also accept recent WISC, WPPSI, MCAS, and SSAT scores in place of the AABL or ISEE. Depending upon the rest of the admission file, we may waive the AABL and ISEE requirement for Kindergarten through Grade 4 applicants.
Our virtual program includes a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning. Students at all levels meet daily with their teachers. Learn about the first three weeks of our virtual education plans here. Recently, students, teachers, and parents were asked for feedback on the current program. Slight changes will be made to the schedule beginning Week 4.
We hold virtual admission events each week. Reach out to the Admission Office for more information if you are interested in connecting with the Head of School, members of the Academic Leadership Team, or faculty and staff who work in specific areas of the school.
