This week Sage Leadership Society members and all donors who gave during the “Raise the Paddle” portion of the 2018 Annual Fund Gala and Auction were treated to a fun night celebrating the Arts and Humanities.

The funds raised in 2018 were used to purchase digital and traditional humanities and library resources, and equipment for the arts, including stage lighting, choral risers, display cases, and an artist in residence stay. Students and teachers in Beginners through Grade 8 have been utilizing these resources all year, however, this is the first opportunity parents had to see the

Director of Advancement Danielle Fish was excited to connect donors with the faculty to gain a better understanding of how their contributions are making a positive impact:

“Sage is incredibly grateful to our donors who gave generously to help the school add wonderful new resources and learning tools for our students.  The Humanities and Arts Departments have been able to further elevate the programming in these areas because of their support.”

Parents rotated through hands-on workshops set up around the school. With the help of Mrs. Bazinet, Ms. Pearce, and Ms. Woodbury from the Arts Department, along with fourth grade teacher, Ms. Gaumond, parents created their own gobo light, utilizing the new stage lights to project their creation. The VR Lab allowed parents to “step into” virtual projects with Computer Science teacher, Mr. Martelli, and seventh grade student apprentice, Cole B. After learning about a variety of library and learning  resources with Media Specialist, Ms. Swanson and Latin teacher, Dr. Berger, parents participated in their own interactive Socratic seminar led by Humanities teachers, Mr. McManus, and Mr. Miller, alongside third grade teacher, Mrs. Cronin. The ‘grand finale’ of the evening had parents take to the new choral risers for some parent karaoke!

This is Sage’s second annual donor showcase event.
