Upper School Latin Teacher and Language Department Co-Chair
David Berger is a native of Lexington, Mass., and a graduate of Lexington High School. He received his B.A. degree magna cum laude from Yale, where he majored in Philosophy; he received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh and his Ph.D. degree in Classics from Brown University. After teaching courses in philosophy, Ancient Greek, and Latin for many years as a graduate student, and after serving as a visiting assistant professor of Classics at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., David joined The Sage School faculty in September 2010. All Middle School students learn Latin with “Dr. Berger.” He is currently developing an online Latin textbook (The Sage School Latin Album) with their help.
