Nearly Two-Thirds of Sage Students Earn National Recognition in Math Competition
This spring, more than 100 Sage students took on the challenge of the Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC)—a nationally recognized problem-solving competition designed to inspire and engage young mathematicians. With a strong showing across all grade levels, Sage students demonstrated not only their math skills but also their perseverance and creative thinking.
We’re proud to share that 69 Sage students were recognized for their performance in this rigorous contest. Twelve students earned a spot on the National Honor Roll, placing in the top 10% of participants across the country, while another 57 students received Honorable Mention, scoring in the top half nationwide. That means nearly two-thirds of Sage participants earned recognition, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the strength of our math program and our students’ dedication.
On a national level, The Sage School was recognized as a Top 10% Team, and our eighth grade earned a standout distinction—tied for 15th place on the national leaderboard. These honors reflect our school-wide commitment to fostering advanced problem-solving and a love of mathematics from an early age.
The Noetic Learning Math Contest is more than just a test—it’s a platform that encourages students to tackle challenging problems independently and creatively. Participants are given 45 minutes (or 50 minutes online) to solve 20 complex questions without the aid of a calculator. The contest’s mission aligns with Sage’s approach to learning: developing strong thinkers who are curious, resilient, and equipped for advanced STEM study.
We’re incredibly proud of all our students who participated and rose to the occasion. Their success is a testament to their hard work and the power of a Sage education.
