The Sage School’s Makerspace is officially open and ready for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. It is currently filled with state-of-the-art technology such as a laser cutter, 3-D printer, digital technology and design equipment, video and sound production tools, and woodworking stations, with more arriving every day.
At The Sage School, a Makerspace is a natural extension of our program – not just another classroom space. It is where our students take their ideas from a concept to a reality. It is a place where our youngest students can better understand how things work and relate by doing it themselves. The Sage School Makerspace will be utilized by all disciplines and no doubt be a hub of creativity and invention.
The Makerspace materials and resources were generously funded by the Sage community at our annual auction last winter. The physical location of the Makerspace is temporary as Sage is looking to build a larger, more official home for our students to tinker and create. We anticipate significant demand for use among our teachers and students, as well as for afterschool clubs and activities.
