Parents – Do you wish to instill social courage in your children? Would you like to learn more about encouraging young people to rely on their “inner compass?” Do you wonder about when and how to have the uncomfortable conversation(s) with your children about sex? About navigating through a digital world that creates unrealistic expectations about social media use, self-image, and intimate relationships? Cindy’s presentations discuss the ever-changing pressures and challenges that young people face as they attempt to feel relevant in a fast moving world. Cindy brings examples from her research and interviews to shed light on how stressful it can be to navigate the overwhelming influences of social media, porn, and hookup culture. By speaking directly about these topics, she makes these conversations easier for everyone.

Cindy’s Keynotes:

  • Inspire students to be more mindful of their choices online and off
  • Offer concrete tools and tactics to help them stay true to their values
  • Guide kids to recognize and practice social courage

Cindy Pierce is a social sexuality educator, storyteller, and author. Combining comic storytelling and years of research, she engages audiences with her message about making healthy choices and navigating cultural pressures.

Cindy encourages parents and educators to engage in conversations with young people about the influences of social media, Internet porn, and hookup culture. Young people are struggling more than ever to feel at ease, worthy and relevant as they attempt to find balance with all realms of their busy lives.
