Pete was born and raised in Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He enlisted in the US Army in the fall and served his first tour of duty in Germany with multiple deployments to Bosnia. Pete was then selected to attend graduate school at the University of Colorado-Boulder where he earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. He taught mathematics at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point for nine years. At USMA, Pete taught courses in Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Probability and Statistics, and Mathematical Modeling. Pete served on the USMA Admissions Committee, served as a faculty liaison to the USMA Preparatory School, led Faculty Development Workshops, and facilitated the annual Summer Leader’s Experience (SLE) for 1000 rising high-school seniors as the Math Department’s senior representative. He retired from the US Army in the summer of 2018 after nearly 24 years of active-duty service. His accomplishments include earning the military rank of Lieutenant Colonel and the academic rank of Assistant Professor. His awards include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the Meritorious Service Medal. Pete currently lives in Foxboro with his wife, Jessica, and their son, Killian. Their interests and hobbies include learning about wine, costume design, and all things Disney.
